Sentence meme

If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence (or more) from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favorite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).

The door swung open again, and Kagami looked up, just as he did when anybody entered. But the Zecter was nowhere in sight. Instead, he was suprised to see Yaguruma-san enter. The other ZECT agent paused in the doorway, and Kagami mentally screamed at him to close it.
A few tense seconds later, and Yaguruma-san did, sitting down at the last vacant table. Kagami went over to serve the other agent, wondering why he was there, if it had anything to do with the Zecter, and whether or not he was in big trouble.
