If you haven't figured out by now, the bond between imagin and host is one of my favorite topics.
I ran across a speculation that Deneb had something to do with raising Yuuto (along with one that Older!Yuuto was the actual host) explaining some of his peculiarities, and ran with it. Actually, the funny thing is that I started this fic with the *title* - I don't usually do that. Actually, my favorite image of the entire fic was Deneb and a young(er) Yuuto sitting outside Zeroliner in happier times, Yuuto watching the stars.
To my amusement, there are a lot of meanings to "Koi". I had in mind 来い, but 恋 fits as well. (As do probably 乞い/請い.) 鯉 crossed my mind too, if just for amusement value.
