Trip was not one to easily run out of ideas. Well, at least out of technical ones. He was constantly innovating, seeing what could be done with the twentieth century parts he picked up at the various hardware stores. In fact, there was one corner of clock tower that was nothing but various and sundry motherboards, cables, and an array of other equipment.
The rest of the group tolerated Trip's collection with some amusement. After all, he was their technical genius; and as long as he got rid of his failed projects in a way that didn't harm anything, why shouldn't he have something to entertain himself between jobs and battles?
Besides, it wasn't like Lucas didn't have a cache of hairspray, and Katie had taken to photography - though Wes had gotten her a camera that wasn't the polaroid. She swore she was going to learn how to develop film someday, but they didn't have room for a darkroom in the building. And Jen was always developing tactics.
So they let him be, and he took care of things, and sometimes even made things that worked in the nick of time for battle. And that made it all worth it.
