I watched my first few subbed eps of the toku series Keitai Sousakan 7 (Cellphone Investigation 7), after reading about the series on
itsbuttery's journal. Well, apparently I can get a plot bunny from just about anything.

Why Bother?

Keita dragged himself into the shower. It had a long but good day the day before, but today definitely sucked. He'd been woken up by an alarm and his 'buddy cellphone', Seven, who definitely was bossy as hell. He wondered what he'd gotten himself into.
Sure, tackling that man had been exciting, a workout, and rewarding, a thank-you to Takimoto-san for doing what he'd done, but now Takimoto was gone, and he was apparently part of Anchor, Seven's new 'buddy'. Except he wasn't a buddy, yet, he had to go through some kind of training to get that status.
He turned off the water with a sharp gesture. First school sucked, and now he had a job that was sure to suck. Except the job was likely to suck less than school. After all, he had kind of a purpose at Anchor, not so much at school.
And if it turned out that Anchor sucked too, well, Seven had sounded so annoyed that he'd probably be kicked out anyway. That would be the end of that, then he'd just go back to the rest of his sucky life, back to being Keita.
Keita dressed, tossing his stuff together, watching Seven convert into his robot form and then jump into Keita's bag. "Hey!"
"I am going with you, Trainee Amishima," the cellphone said briefly, with a tone that screamed that it wasn't a suggestion, but an order. He was probably stuck with Seven for a while. He'd just have to ignore him until the cellphone gave up.
"I'm not going to argue with a cellphone," he said, zipping up his backpack. His sister thought he was weird as it was, and his parents were worried. Why stress?
Seven would be out of his life soon enough anyway.
