On the more mundane stuff for this episode, Nago wanders around 1986 variously trying to talk to Otoya or trying to punch him out. Fortunately, this is Otoya, and he has a few tricks up his sleeve. Nago decides to kidnap *Yuri* (which he manages to do, bleh) and tries to get the IXA Knuckle that way. He's no match for the pair together. Maya shows up to have a talk (and Yuri is not pleased at her interaction with Otoya and drags him off). Maya ends up talking to Nago, Nago gives her a button for some reason, and then he ends up going back to the painter's house, but not before discovering that Maya's a Fangire. The monster shows up, the original event happens, and a talk that Nago had with Otoya comes back to him (I'm wondering if it's the same "Listen to the voice in your heart" speech Otoya gives Mami) and he manages to get the monster to let go of the painter. While talking to Otoya, he's returned to Castle Dran and 2008.
Back in 2008, Kengo and Wataru are made members of the Wonderful Blue Sky association while the rest of it is in jail (or 22 years in the past). They have practice with the same style of weapon as Megumi uses, Wataru is a total klutz. They end up fighting that Crab Fangire with the same weapon. Wataru is still a klutz. Since the past is changed, Megumi comes in to fight and joins forces with Kengo. Nago is not far behind, and neither is the monster from 1986 (who double-attacks Wataru-as-Kiva). Nago and Wataru finish off one of the Fangire each.
The biggest part? Oh my.
In 2008, Wataru is paying his bill at the Cafe at the end of the episode when he drops everything in his wallet. Nago turns and spots a very familiar button among the yen coins. If I've got the gist of their conversation right, Nago asks where Wataru got it, and Wataru tells him that his (Wataru's) mother gave it to him. Then we get a sudden flashback - the baby on the throne with Bishop, which was in the preview - with the Bishop saying something about the baby's mother. The camera pans past Bishop to reveal Maya, who picks the baby up.
So, assuming I didn't mishear (I'll feel better when I have a raw I can replay, and *subs*), it's implied that Wataru's mother is Maya. And that the baby in the flashback is Wataru. And Nago has a big clue that only a few people (Kivat, the Arms Monsters, possibly Shima and the Cafe Owner) have. I was too blinky to catch much of the preview other than something about King, Rook being back, and everybody fighting him, but oh boy. Nago, of all people, has a very big clue that Wataru is not full human. And Nago doesn't like Fangire....
EDIT: Some people on the boards are saying that's Taiga, not Wataru on the throne. I so need a raw. (However, it's still not a good thing for Nago to put Wataru together with Maya.) Taiga is Wataru's past friend. (Taiga's kanji match the kanji in the episode recap. Does that mean that Wataru has an older half-brother?)
