Title: The Fish and Lies
Author: EstiRose
Fandom: Kamen Rider Den-O
Rating: 8+
Summary: Momotaros doesn't understand Urataros.
Word Count: 282
"I don't have time for yer nonsense!" Momotaros exclaimed as he paced up and down the Den-Liner dining car. Sitting placidly - too placidly - at one of the tables was Urataros, the most useless of the four of them. If Kintaros slept too much and Ryuutaros was uncontrollable, well, at least they were honest. Momotaros might have to kill Ryuutaros to keep him from killing Ryoutarou someday, but the kid was at least honest in what he was saying. And it never occurred to the Bear to lie.
"What nonsense, Sempai?" Urataros' words were too smooth for Momotaros, too sly, too convincing.
"Yer nonsense! All that wooing and wording and lying!" Ryoutarou let Urataros to the forefront when he needed to lie; at least the kid wasn't that good at it.
"The fisherman needs the proper bait to catch fish, Sempai," Urataros said, inspecting his fingers as if Momotaros' irritation meant nothing to him.
"Bah. Fishermen! Bait! Stop speaking in metaphors, Turtle!" Momotaros complained. But he knew that Urataros would be thrilled by his losing control. Urataros liked to stir things up, that was for sure.
It was part of why Momotaros didn't trust him. Why talk with guile when you could have a good fight? Ryoutarou seemed to trust him, but Momotaros didn't.
"The fish always fights before he is drawn in," Urataros said sagely, and Momotaros didn't even pretend to try to understand that metaphor. He wasn't stupid, but his strength was fighting, not talking.
"The fish- wait, are you talking about me?" Momotaros asked. Of course Urataros was. Urataros was that way.
Urataros merely laughed and turned back to his coffee. Fuming, Momotaros started pacing the dining car again.
