Fic: Asking for Help (Kamen Rider Kuuga/Kamen Rider Den-O)

My first fic of my yearly ficspam is a Kuuga/Den-O crossover. tilmon requested a Kamen Rider crossover, and when I was thinking of what to cross over, I thought of poor Ichijou Kaoru from Kuuga meeting one of the other Riders. And what better (and most logical) choice than one of the Den-O folk?


Asking for Help

Ichijou Kaoru had seen stranger things in his life than a train that came with its own tracks. So he waited patiently for the young man who had been dropped off by said train - which had the courtesy to disappear after it had done so - and approached him.

"Oh, sorry," the boy - for he was such, not too much into adulthood - said. "Did I...."

He looked like he was used to apologizing, and Ichijou immediately took a mental step back.

"No," he said. He caught sight of the card, the date flashing on it. Cards shouldn't flash like that. Cards certainly shouldn't be flashing the current date. "Do you need help?"

"I... I'm all right," the boy said. He bowed. "I'm sorry!"

"Let me know if you need any help," Ichijou said. He probably shouldn't be offering... but he knew what trouble civilians got into, and especially extraordinary civilians with unexpected abilities. "Detective Ichijou."

"Um... thank you," the boy said. "But... I think I should find this on my own."

He wasn't Godai; he didn't have the self-assurance that the other man had. But most people didn't arrive on trains that ran on their own tracks and disappeared into the sky.

Ichijou just hoped that this one knew how to call for help. To realize that he needed help. He took out a card. "Just in case...."

The boy was speechless for a moment. "Thank you," he said, bowing deeply. Then, as if listening to some voice that Ichijou couldn't hear, he took off.

Ichijou just hoped he'd remember that help was out there.

Ichijo. ♥ I love that he's so matter of fact about trains appearing/disappearing out of thin air and everything. :) Although I suppose that after fighting the Grongi for a year nothing much fazes you. :)

Yay! Most people don't do crossovers very well, but you have a talent for keeping characters, well, in character, so their interaction doesn't seem at all forced.
