Random Stardew Valley (Expanded) stuff
May. 13th, 2022 09:42 pmTalking about Immersive Farm 2 Remastered spoilers, as well as other character spoilers. I'm on day 1 of year 3 right now.
I did my first (partial) run of Stardew Valley Expanded (SVE) with the Grandpa's Farm layout, but I'm finding I prefer the other SVE farm layout, Immersive Farm 2 Remastered. There are a smaller amount of quests, and all you need for most of it is an iron pickaxe/iron axe (instead of the aforementioned quests and a gold pickaxe). Also, you don't have to build your own fences for keeping animals unless you want to.
That being said, this map is huge. And when I say huge, I mean huge. I just started year 3 and I've cleared out a little more than half the map. There are thankfully shortcuts - two mine cart "doors" - one to the area on the left hand side and one near the cave. The cave is way bigger and has an additional cart "door" that leads to an area with exposed minerals and an underground pond with the level 20 and 60 mine fish.
In addition, there are three areas, two of which correspond to the canon maps (regrowing hardwood and a mineral area like the hilltop farm), and a third if you don't want to go all the way to the railroad area to use the spa. All of these require the iron axe and/or pickaxe. There's also forage if that's what you're looking for.
Right now I've cleared out the left hand side area and plunked a shed in it for my wine-and-jelly empire, as well as put three fish ponds into the middle left side. This year, I'm starting out with some nice veggies for spring; they're less money-makers than anything else. My current coop is getting pretty full (3 chickens, one of which is a void chicken, along with a dino and a rabbit) and I'll be adding in cows and pigs in year 3.
I'm about 44% finished with befriending all the villagers, both canon and new. Currently I'm trying to finish up Willy and Pierre; next will be Susan and Linus (and Martin, on Sundays). I just got the Statue of Perfection (I made lots of money + Skull Key and Rusty Key + Community Center to get a 4-candle evaluation). Also hope to get Grandpa's Shed up and running this year - when I played last time that gave me another huge greenhouse and a keg/cask area.
Marriage-wise, I'm going to wait until I've unlocked Ginger Island and gotten both obelisks to and from so that my poor spouse doesn't have to worry about me disappearing for days. I'll take the crib and beds out because no way am I dealing with kids. (Though getting Krobus or spoiler as a roommate also appeals).
