Dear Yuletide Writer (and treaters),

Well, it's that time of year again! I'm Estirose on AO3, and here is the stuff that I hope you find useful when writing for me this year. Treats are welcome.

Likes: I'm always a fan of found family (including actually finding family). I am a huge fan of worldbuilding. I love fluff, but I also like darker stories (with a little bit of a hopeful ending), especially in my horror fandoms. Hurt/comfort with emphasis on comfort. Interactive fiction. Crossovers with fandoms I've written on AO3 (The Expression Amrilato especially lends itself to crossovers).

DNW: Explicit sex (fade to black is fine). Deliberate humiliation of characters. Explicit descriptions of gore (except on ghosts). Noncon and dubcon. Incest. A/B/O. Discussions of cancer.

I'm okay with: Canon-typical violence.

Note: For fandoms where I have requested multiple people, as long as one of the requested characters play a major role I don't need the others to appear (for example, if I was requesting Cozy Grove with Patrice and Ursula, I do not need Ursula to show up in a Patrice-centric story).

My fandoms this year (and their genres): Fatal Frame III (survival horror video game), Tangle Tower (mystery point and click video game), The Expression Amrilato (visual novel), Fantasy Life (rpg/life sim video game), The Tomorrow People (1992) (YA science fiction tv series)

And now onto the fandoms!

Zero: Shisei no Koe | Fatal Frame III: The Tormented (Rei, Miku)
The air... is so heavy....
(mini-promo)

I love the beautiful, tragic Fatal Frame games (and am so looking forward to the worldwide release of Fatal Frame 4 next year). Fatal Frame III is my favorite because it covers survivor's guilt, brings back beloved characters from the first two games, and has the characters start dealing with their issues. I love all the characters from this game, but I want to focus on Rei and Miku. Rei tries to recover, but her grief is compounded by her guilt, and it's only at the end that in releasing Reika that she can release her own pain. While Miku's guilt (misplaced, but still) about Mafuyu is not quite as resolved, I believe with support from Rei and Kei, she can start to move past, just like she tried to help Rei with her grief and guilt. I love being able to interact with Ruri, I love how the Manor of Sleep starts blurring into Rei's own world, and I like the somewhat hopefulness of the new game+ ending. A story with a dark and tragic ending would fit so well in this fandom (along with some hopefulness).

(In regards to what happened to Miku in Fatal Frame V: I'd prefer canon divergences that ignore the Word of God about what happened in the Manor of Sleep after the last point where Miku is playable. If sticking with canon, I would prefer that you deal with Miku's mental state that would cause Miu to happen, with some happiness/hope in the end.)

Romance-wise, I tend to ship Rei with Kei or Miku, and Miku with anybody who is not her brother.

Here are my Fatal Frame III fics, since I tend to write what I like to read.

Availability-wise, this is a Playstation 2 exclusive, and was also on the Playstation store for a while. There are quite a few Let's Plays on various streaming services. HowLongToBeat says a full game takes about 16 hours.

Prompt-wise, I'd be happy with practically anything for this game (including Rei or Miku monologing at Ruri for 1000 words), but if you want something specific:
* Assuming best ending (the new game+), I'd love to see the two of them having conversations about what they saw and experienced, including the fact that Rei was essentially having Miku's (and Kei's) dreams.
* Zombie invasion AU! I wrote something of the sort but I'd love to have your take. I'm happy to see the Fatal Frame 4 cast show up, or even some time travelling Fatal Frame 5 characters.
* I'd love a bit of Yuu and Rei relationship, pre-accident. Or maybe he gets her to meet Kei and Mafuyu before the events of the game, how would that affect how the canon events go?
* Miku settling into a rhythm at Yuu and Rei's home. We know she's still traumatized by the events of the first game, but what does she do to at least try to move on, even if it ultimately fails?
* Miku and Ruri fluff!
* Either Miku or Rei (or both) encountering more ghosts or spirits out of Japanese folklore. What would it be like if one of them ran into a Kuchisake-onna or something similar to Stroller Grandma, or for a less malevolent spirit, a Nurikabe or Sunekosuri?

Tangle Tower (no characters nominated)
Earmuffs do not go on statues!
(mini-promo)

I was greatly pleased and surprised to see Tangle Tower in the tagset! I just replayed this quirky point and click mystery adventure and I so much want more! I like the eccentric members of the Pointer and Fellow families, I had no problem with the ending, the world is fun and interesting and the commentary on everything you click on (plus everybody's reactions to the evidence and each other) is just great. The puzzles aren't mindless but they're not overly hard and I like the various story mechanisms. I have a soft spot for Flora, Poppy, and Fitz but really, the entire cast is great. I'm aiming for stories about the family rather than Grimoire and Sally as I haven't played the rest of the Detective Grimoire series (that being said, them being referenced or appearing is fine).

Romance-wise... um, Poppy and Fitz would be cute and are distantly enough related that they don't trigger my incest squick.

Availability-wise, this game was originally available exclusively on Apple Arcade but is now on all major platforms (except Android). There are quite a few Let's Plays for this game. HowLongToBeat says this game takes about 6 hours to play.

Prompt-wise, I'm interested in something along the lines of the following:
* More Freya-Fifi-Poppy friendship! They seem to be the closest and I'd like to see more of them, maybe deciding to go on adventures together. Or having adventures around the island/in the towers/etc. Maybe a canon divergence where they all leave the tower instead of Freya getting killed and have adventures in the outside world.
* I would like to know more about that sketch that Freya made of Poppy and Fitz. What were the circumstances? Was Fitz kind of flirting with Poppy, or were they just talking about botany?
* Given that some of the family members almost solved the mystery before Grimoire and Sally did, I would like to see them do the investigation, either in lieu of Grimoire and Sally showing up or while Grimoire and Sally are doing theirs.
* What happens to Penny post-game - where does she go, what does she do?

ことのはアムリラート | The Expression Amrilato (Worldbuilding)
Pardonas. Mi ne povas kompreni la signficon de via danco.... (translation)
(mini-promo)

This is my lovely little f/f educational visual novel that few seem to have heard of (unless you're greatly into f/f isekai visual novels or are in the Esperanto community). I bought it for the Esperanto lessons and the isekai (transported into another world) aspect, and of course the f/f romance was a bonus! Rin is a very realistic teenager thrown into what is and isn't a foreign country with a completely different language, and because this is an educational visual novel she doesn't instantly gain fluency with the local language. The game teases a very interesting world and doesn't do much with it, much to my annoyance. (It probably doesn't help that the POV character for 1 1/2 games is Rin, who is not the brightest or socially ept teenager ever.)

There is a sequel, Distant Memoraĵo. I've played it but don't expect you to play it for this request and it adds little-to-no new information about the Juliamo world. (That being said, it's a great one for the Rin/Ruka romance and understanding more of Ruka's and Rei's backstory - I enjoyed both parts.)

I ask that if you include the character of Rei that you keep in mind she enjoys teasing people. Her teasing is not intentionally mean-spirited but there were several points in the game where her teasing of Rin hit my humiliation squick/DNW, so if you include Rei, please have more serious Rei and not her teasing aspect.

Availability-wise, this game is available for Steam, GOG, and the publisher Magnagamer's website for Windows/Mac/Linux. (The sequel is on Steam and Magnagamer.) I've found a handful of Let's Plays for this game. HowLongToBeat says about 10-13 hours to complete this game, I'm assuming 10 hours is if you turn off all the quizzes.

Romance-wise, I'm asking for worldbuilding but if you want Rin/Ruka in the background (or a Rin/Ruka-centric worldbuilding fic) I'm all for it.

Here are my fics for The Expression Amrilato and some worldbuilding information that I compiled after playing both.

Prompt-wise, here's the kind of things I'd be interested in:
* I'd love to see an outside perspective of someone living in the area, either by someone who likes/wants to help Vizitantoj or someone who dislikes them. Maybe the produce seller that Rin talks to?
* It's widely implied that in the story of Miss A and Person B that Miss A is Rei, but what if it isn't? I'd be interested in the story of two people who liked each other, enough for one to try to jump into a portal that they apparently could not see and one that rejected them.
* Because of the isekai nature of the Juliamo world, it's ripe for crossovers where a character from one source ends up there and has to cope. Probably the easiest would be worlds closer to our own (so, from my own requests, Fatal Frame or The Tomorrow People) rather than fantasy worlds (such as Tangle Tower or Fantasy Life). In addition to fandoms I've written, I'd be glad to get Ms. Marvel or She-Hulk, the recent Obi-Wan Kenobi series, any Power Rangers series, Kamisama Kiss, or Love Between Fairy and Devil.
* Historical fiction going into more detail about how the special zones were established, how the natives picked up Esperanto/Juliamo from the first visitors, why they chose to implement Juliamo and so on.
* How would someone who spoke some/fluent Esperanto be treated? After all, one of the things the Visitor's Bureau does is weed out fakes, but how do you tell a fake from a new arrival who can actually understand (at least some) Juliamo?
* What are the special districts like in other countries? Do they have the same issues as the ones in Japan? Is it easier to teach/learn Juliamo in North/South America and most of Europe because Juliamo/Esperanto was heavily derived from Indo-European languages?

Fantasy Life (Olivia, Aurora)
What? You want this little stone? Well, I don't mind if you borrow it....
(mini-promo)

This quiet little rpg is one of my favorites because of its career (Life) switching system. It's easy to start out your day as a tailor, putting some clothes together for sale, then switch over during a quick guild visit to angler to catch some fish, and then another quick guild visit to switch to Hunter to catch some bounties. It has a plot, but the plot mainly stays out of your way except when you need it to happen (like to get to a new area). I find it quite relaxing and fun (unless I'm trying to get one of the harder bounties).

This year I'm doing something different and focusing on inhabitants of Port Puerto. Specifically on Olivia and Aurora, because I would like to see more fic about Port Puerto in general. I think sometimes it gets missed because writers focus on either Castele or Al Maajik. Olivia is figuring out her identity given the events of the game and Aurora is a very capable mechanic/alchemist that you can recruit on adventures. Both of these are characters that I'd like to get to know better and since the game won't give them to me... I'm hoping a writer will.

Also, I have the North American version of the game, but using location/character names/etc from other versions will not bother me. If Aurora starts talking about Robin going to Levitania instead of Terra Nimbus it's not going to throw me.

(Note: I know that Fantasy Life Online has gotten to Port Puerto and beyond, but I haven't kept up with it because the gatcha aspect annoys me. That being said, if you want to introduce new NPCs from Port Puerto or if Olivia and/or Aurora get some development there I'm happy to have you incorporate it.)

Romance-wise, I don't care if you pair Olivia with anyone (except Ahab and Andy), I like Aurora/Robin but I'd be fine with her romancing others (except Crankshaft of course).

Availability-wise, Fantasy Life is a 3DS game. It is available as of this writing on the 3DS store and there is a physical cartridge. As mentioned above, there is an iOS/Android gatcha game that's sort of a sequel, but I don't play it and don't expect you to. There are Let's Plays for the 3DS version. HowLongToBeat says about 31.5 hours to beat just the main story (partly because of the amount of dialogue + grinding up sufficiently so you don't insta-die in the later areas).

Here are my Fantasy Life fics.

Possible prompts:
* Olivia is the governor of an entire city, but we don't really see her in that role, nor do we get to see her as a pirate. I'd love to see her balancing both in a way more than "she's in governor gear during the day and pirate gear during the night".
* Olivia being with her family! We don't get enough of her relationship with either Andy or Ahab. I'd like her to spend time with either or both.
* Maybe some pirate training with the pirate crew at the harbor for Olivia?
* Young Aurora with Crankshaft and Larkin! As TvTropes points out, Aurora essentially has two daddies in the form of the two of them and I think that should be explored more.
* I do ship Robin/Aurora and I'd like to see them explore Origin Island as per the ending screen for that part of the game.
* Aurora just being awesome! She doesn't get much to do other than help Crankshaft/Robin/Noelia and a bit about the Larkin and Crankshaft backstory. She seems to be a really cool inventor-alchemist. Maybe a story that fits with canon but where Aurora and Noelia are working together before Robin is brought in? Maybe a Noelia/Aurora relationship where Aurora pushes past Noelia's indifferent shell to the softhearted person inside?

The Tomorrow People (1992) (Lisa)
Don't make her! She's afraid of flying!
(mini-promo)

The Tomorrow People has always appealed to me because of the whole premise. That is, it forces the characters to seek another soution besides killing. The 1990s version was the first one I saw and so it holds a place in my heart. Sometimes cheesy, sometimes serious, it was a series where I couldn't wait for the next episode. I loved the main characters, the side characters, and even (most of) the villains. (Please don't get me started on the cereal guy.)

I love all of this series' Tomorrow People, but I have a special spot in my heart for Lisa. Lisa did not ask to be special. She didn't ask for her mom to be abducted. She refused the call! Quite successfully, I might add, given that she never showed up (or was mentioned much, if at all) again. I realize that's for casting/plot reasons, but it's still great. I love her stubborn, somewhat hysterical, somewhat annoyed self. (I also love Jade for the completely opposite reason of jumping at the call, but I really want Lisa this year.)

Romance-wise, while I am slightly shippy of her with Adam, I'm more looking for gen for this fandom.

Here are my Tomorrow People (1992) fics.

Availability-wise, this is a TV series that aired in the 1990s (5 serials of 5 episodes each, about 2 hours per serial). There are novelizations for it that can be found to this day on Amazon/various book sale sites. (It can also be found in less than legal ways online that I won't go into here.) Lisa herself only appears in one serial (Origin Story), which is novelized as the first half of the Culex Experiment novelization.

Prompts:
* I'd like to see more of Lisa trying to live as normal a life as possible. In my headcanon, General Damon got her and her mom new identities so she could live life as normal as possible.
* It would be really cool to have her encounter Jade, since Jade jumped at the call and Lisa did pretty much the opposite. I'm curious as to how they would react to each other.
* Lisa gets stuck in an adventure. This may involve the other TP, or it may be something she handles on her own.
* Or if you want to do an AU, a story where she doesn't quite refuse the call as successfully as she did in canon and she's present for Culex onwards. Maybe she's not as available, but she's still referenced/talking/assisting as she can given that she's, well, at least 5 hours off from the rest of them.
