Stardew Valley (Expanded) progress
May. 27th, 2024 07:18 pmSo, on the light end of things, here's how I'm doing...
Running Stardew Valley Expanded (SVE for short) for 1.6 with Automate, Chests Anywhere, Autogate, and my own two mods (for extra shop items and slightly easier combat). My farmer is named Wilde. (For those not aware, SVE is a huge mod that adds additional locations, NPCs, celebrations, objects, etc.)
I'm currently towards the end of year 3, trying to head towards Perfection. This will be challenging. I haven't figured out who to marry yet - I kind of want to do Krobus as roommate, but I'd like some actual end-game dialogue (yes, SV has end-game dialogue) so a human spouse it is. According to Stardew Valley Checkup (a website) I'm about 30% of the way to Perfection, but that is made for vanilla Stardew Valley so I'm probably more in the 27% range.
I just met Apples (a SVE NPC so I'm hoping I get some cutscenes that exist that take up the whole "Abigail's true father" hints in vanilla Stardew Valley and expand them. To do so, I need a cutscene with Abigail that takes place I think after I meet Apples, and I have to go into this new location in Stardew Valley Expanded.
Combat-wise, I've set up things pretty well, I think. I've got a Galaxy Sword, upgraded on the Forge on the top of the Caldera (it's got Crusader, along with a couple of other buffs), along with two sets of combined rings (one of which in a way is also a combined ring in itself). So right now I have the glowstone ring combined with the napalm ring, and the slime charmer ring combined with the crabshell ring. Basically the effect of this set of rings is: I get a little bit of light, have a slightly bigger autograb/pull of dropped items, monsters damage damageable items when they poof out, slimes are unable to harm me, and I have better protection against monsters that can.
I've gotten two levels of the new mastery system. So far I've got the combat and gathering masteries. I've found most of the trinkets except for the fairy (which is the one I really want) and the hair gel (which can't be found and I don't care about). Right now I've got the basilisk hand, which prevents any bad effects. I've used it pretty much in the volcano dungeon and I'm looking forward to using it also in the dangerous remixes of the various mines because some of the effects on those are not fun.
I've also upgraded my house to max and established a working cellar. I've got to make a run to the desert to get myself some more starfruit seeds. I'm on my way to get my first full obelisk, which will allow me to get to the desert without having to keep trading omni geodes at the desert trader (which is cheaper than actually making one).
Friends-wise, I'm about halfway through with the list of friends. I'm aware from playing the game with SVE before that I have one more NPC to meet (I have to get to a certain level of friendship with another NPC) and one more location to unlock (have to get to a level of friendship with another NPC).
I've delayed finishing the missing bundle for the theater, just getting to that now. Fortunately I've kind of lucked out with prismatic shards this playthrough and have one of those for the bundle, and it's not that hard to get gold ancient fruit. I've already added a void salmon, I can do dino mayo no problem, and I just realized I had a wine I can throw in (gifted by a NPC) for one of the other bundle slots.
I'm also working on Fallout 4. I'm having the bad luck of getting to my first set of actual armor and running across a monster that I'm doing terrible killing. Blergh. Eventually I'll get good at it.
