So, I'm a Linux user. (This is not news to anyone who follows me.)

Most streaming services will work with my Linux desktop. Do I occasionally have to deal with a lower resolution? Yes. I'm not a cinemaphile or videophile so frankly, I don't care.

Peacock TV? Doesn't work for me at all. I honestly hate DRM and I especially hate DRM that refuses to run on an open source OS.

I first filed a request for help to see if there was anything to do to make Peacock work. The reply was "oh no! Here's a link to the page where you can see which devices are supported!" This was not an auto-reply where they would say "We'll get back to you but have you checked (this page)?". This was not someone saying "sure, we can help, first of all, have you read article x?" (Which still would not have been great, but understandable.)

When I saw that, I said "f this" and cancelled. But I still had my account and they'd still charged me. So I opened up a 2nd ticket, explaining that a) I had the service less than a day, b) I run Linux, which I presumed would work because every one of their competitors at least lets me stream. Also, please no auto-response/pasted in response that made it clear that they didn't read my ticket or I would be very unhappy.

So, the long story short is, I refuse to pay a service that won't invest in DRM that at least works with my main machine. I suppose if they won't refund me (they may not, I requested but as they note it's at their discretion) I'll try to get it up and running in my Win10 VM on the machine? But I'm also put off by their first response to a question that was clearly from a technical person looking for assistance.

It's a shame. I wanted to watch a) the Olympics, and b) Oxygen, but no. Not gonna support people who won't support my device.

ETA: I followed up with some advice (and after complaining that they didn't bother to read my email, I accidentally lost track of a sentence and added too many negatives to it. Oops! Hopefully the feedback people can figure out what negates what!) to the tech support people, they asked how I could be refunded, I told them I'd opened a ticket, they got me refunded.
