My brain seems to have adopted Gai. I didn’t want to adopt him, so I wrote this fic instead. Feel free to adopt the plotbunny/fragment.

“Next time, I think I’ll let you step in,” Gai said. He didn’t regret saving the little girl, not at all, and the power could be really nifty, and he’d always wanted to be a hero.

He just didn’t think that it would involve… what it involved.

“You stepped in first,” said his twin sister Junko, “you get to handle the restrictions.”

Gai looked at his Gokai Cellular. “Seriously. I have to get a guy to marry me.” It was obvious that they’d meant for a girl to have this power. “And the leader of the current team to boot?”

“Yes,” Junko said patiently. “You wanted to be a superhero? Then fine. You can persuade the space pirate to take your hand in marriage.”

“Um….” He thought about that. “How do I convince a space pirate to marry me?”

“You’re smart,” Junko said, “You figure it out.”

“Oooh, I’ll just dress as a girl,” Gai said, his eyes lighting up. “They do that all the time on teams.”

Junko rolled her eyes. “Whatever,” she said, and left.
