estiroseI got two lovely reviews off of fanfiction.net today (one for "A Friend Indeed", which focuses on Shingo of OOOs circa episode 43, and one for "Only a Pirate's Dream", which is about Gai of Gokaiger).
I'm not going to comment much on the one for "A Friend Indeed" because it's beautiful on its own, just paste it here.
Ankh is such a riddle isn't he? Terrified of letting anyone in lest they
betray him like he'd been betrayed before, and that terror makes him
vulnerable. -sighs- I wonder what he's going to do now...I wonder how it will
all end.
Which is exactly what I wanted to convey in the story, so I'm happy. (It's also the first review for this piece, so I'm doubly happy!)
The second one, for "Only a Pirate's Dreams" needs a little more explanation. Gai goes to visit his aunt, who decides that she needs to kidnap him to keep him safe. Marvelous shoots down her door and he and his crew proceed to rescue Gai.
Here's the review:
that won't work psycho aunt (Doggie kruger would just help them out, you
forget they got Deka power before they meet gai.)
That made me grin for a couple minutes straight. There's a certain greatness to people commenting like this, to a fictional character and especially to a fictional character who's an OC. (Hanako, the 'psycho aunt' in question, would comment that she wouldn't know that because she doesn't pay attention to the whole 'which team knows which' part, and only knows what she does know because of Gai. Though I do wonder if Doggie and the other Dekas would actually help them out. They might if they found evidence of Hanako drugging her nephew, which would be the first thing Marvelous would blurt out if someone mentioned the incident to him, but....)
In the meantime, I've been working on Discovering the Sun part 3, or at least trying to. (Stubborn Tendou.) Maybe a new part out tomorrow.
