Trent picked at his food. Anton avoided raising an eyerow at this, fearing that if he pointed it out, Trent would run. And Trent needed some stability in his life.
He wished now that he'd had the sense to send Trent up to his cousin in Stockton. It would have been safer, at least for Trent, and his adoptive son wouldn't be living wherever he was, hiding from his own father.
Anton took an internal deep breath. He wished he could tell Tommy about what had happened to him, but, in a way, he was afraid. Afraid of how Tommy Oliver would react when he found out that Anton Mercer was Mesogog, and would hesitate taking care of the monster because the man was in there.
