Cut because this isn't likely to be of interest to those not following my NaNoWriMo project.

It's not my fandom and I know nothing about it, but got sucked in anyway :)

Isn't the point to finish in November? *looks confused*

And you should finish. Win. Go Esti! (Just 'cause I'm not following the fic doesn't mean I can't be a NaNo cheerleader. Oh dear, icon coming on....)

Well, according to the NaNoWriMo website (more or less paraphrased), the goal is to finish 50,000 words of a novel. Hopefully at that point, you finish the novel as well, but that's not a prerequisite for winning. I don't think I'll have a problem with hitting the 50,000 word requirement (and therefore winning), but my story's not going to wrap up at 50,000 words. Maybe 100,000, or even 150,000 but not 50,000.

First... killer LJ layout! I love the woobly at the top right! (Wub-lee - cute animals that don't really exist but should; found heavily in anime; a word made up by Nikki)

Okay, I'm not reading. I don't read during NaNoWriMo -- I find myself too easily captivated by stories that spin me into new ideas. It can be really hard for me to get "back on track" after this happens so I just stopped doing it. The only real exception is comic books. I guess I've been reading them for so long and know that I can't continue the story until next month it just works a little bit different in my brain.

If your story isn't finished and if you are still into it, I totally think you should keep writing after you win and November is over. :) I did the same thing on my first NaNo because it was so long. Heck, I did the whole "detailed outline of how the story will go to finish the story in November" just to try and wrap it up in my head.

Also, congrats on kicking so much butt at NaNo, Selma! You rock!
