Kiva ep 7 raw observations
Mar. 9th, 2008 04:41 pmAs some of my flist knows, I've been having some RL issues, so I've been a bit scatterbrained. (I had FAB half done before
nomadskye beat me to the update.)
Okay. Megumi gets out of the hospital (in continuity from episode 6, where she was in the hospital, no doubt recovering from Sheep Fangaire's attack). Nago isn't too happy about this. They argue. Wataru appraises rose petals for his violin dye.
The nasty this week runs a restaurant and kills his customers. Well, at least the ones that weren't disruptive and he had to throw out, like Megumi and Nago. There's some support in there for onesided Wataru/Megumi; I hope this time around, they aren't related, like what happened with Ryou and Hana. Nago sends Wataru to play waiter and spy. He seems to be fond of having Wataru doing the dirty work. Apparently Wataru and Nago have a conversation about Kiva, but I have to wait for the subs to see what they said.
Megumi follows one of the customers and is there when the Nasty attacks them. Wataru shows up too. In the middle of the fight, Nago shows up and is nuts enough to attack Wataru/Kiva in mid-battle, allowing the Fangaire to get away for the second time in three episodes. (It's like, Nago, if Kiva is attacking a Fangaire, leave him alone, okay?) We do get to hear Wataru's voice while he's 'in suit' as Kiva, as he gets away from Nago, who he really doesn't want to hurt. Other than vaulting using his shoulder.
In the 1986 thread, we do see the Nasty, but most of the storyline is focused on Otoya and Yuri following Jiro. This storyline will hopefully also get wrapped up next episode, as Jiro does something rather shocking (especially for those who still see Matsuda Kenji as Zanki) in the last few minutes of the ep.
And in the credits, a small error: When they show the frames with the scenes for the ep, the third frame is the 1986 one, but the events are from 2008. (The scene sequence goes: 08, Megumi and Nago at restaurant, house of cards at Castle Dran, Shikuza panics at the bug, 86, Something, then Otoya's magic trick, and a clip from the last few minutes of the ep, then the 86 card, with Wataru in the bath, Megumi trying to save a woman, and Nago running at Kiva.)
Speaking of tokusatsu and real life issues,
finalauraburst needs more mods. Right now, we're down to three or four people actively doing FAB, which isn't good when one of them has issues. Anybody interested in taking a day or two, especially during the week?

Date: 2008-03-11 11:23 am (UTC)So after Wataru defends Nago to Megumi ("Nago-san is a good person. He's strong... Kind..." and then Megumi yanks at his scarf and asks him if he's nuts XD), Wataru talks with Nago and tells him what Megumi told him.
Nago says that since Wataru is his student, Wataru is to believe only what Nago says.
Wataru: Anou, Nago-san. Is it alright if you listen to this one thing I have to say?
Nago: What is it?
Wataru: You said it, didn't you, Nago-san. That you would defeat Kiva.
Nago: Because he's an enemy of humanity.
Wataru: Anou... I think that's wrong.
Nago: Why do you think that?
Wataru: That's...
Nago: Didn't you understand what I said earlier? You're supposed to believe only what I say.
I must've been the only one to fall out of my chair when Kiva scurried away and then we hear Wataru's voice XD (Oh Seto, ILUSM.)

Date: 2008-03-11 11:25 am (UTC):: I'm actually wondering about that. Yuri is Megumi's mother, Otoya is Wataru's dad. Otoya is so smitten with Yuri. And right around the time of the first two episodes I read random rumors (but of course they're just rumors) on Japanese forums about Yuri being Wataru's mother. Hm.
