Kamen Rider Kiva 22 raw thoughts

estiroseAnd some thoughts about Kiva episode 22 raw, with some notes about 23 preview and movie preview.
Continuing on from Kiva 21, we're still dealing with Jiro's issues.
On the 1986 side, Yuri is still undecided on what to do about Jiro's proposal. I think she's slowly becoming either unsure about Jiro, becoming fascinated by Otoya, or both. She does end up deciding not to marry Jiro at the moment, though she does have a dream sequence about it. I think that's a wise idea, because the first thing I think Jiro would do is get her pregnant and out of the way so that she's not in danger. Despite what Shima-san said in the previous episode, Jiro would not allow her to be a warrior.
She ends up helping Otoya out when it turns out that his childhood friend just wants an expensive dress and dupes him into making the money to pay for it. (I think Otoya's wealthy himself; he doesn't seem to lack for much of his daily needs, nor does Wataru.) He does look rather nice as a construction guy, though. And it seems to keep him out of trouble. In a strange turn, Shima briefs Yuri and Otoya on the whole latest Fangire, and Otoya being Otoya, he lures out the Fangire by crossdressing.
On the 2008 side, Kengo tries to date Mio (the waitress from the previous episode), but since Mio is essentially a clumsy female version of Wataru, it doesn't go very well. Wataru and Mio end up together. Mio ends up buying a top from the Chameleon Fangire, who goes after her like he does most of his customers. She gets to be the 2008 victim of the week, though the Chameleon Fangire pauses in astonishment as he's choking her to death. I kind of have to wonder if he had a little romance back nine months before Mio was born....
In the end, Wataru defeats the Fangire with Dogga form, and Mio decides to keep trying.
Episode 23 preview: Maya is back after a two-episode absence. It looks like Mio shows up again. Otoya chases Maya around a railroad barrier. And Wataru fights the latest Fangire.
Movie preview:
Yes, that does seem to be Wataru with wings. Want to bet that momma was a Bat Fangire? We also see how far the patterns go down, though there seems to be no color to them.
