This spoils things in act 2/act 3 regarding enemies that can be found in a certain midgame section that get moved in late game.
So, in the middle of the game, you get access to an area that is populated primarily with Plierimps, Masked Fiends, and Doomshrooms (that are not at all friendly), along with a version of the bumble ants.
In a late-game mission you supposedly clear the whole area of these monsters, so I always presumed that they went away permanently. (Interestingly, the Bandirat variants - which are on a sidepath from the cleared area - are still available until the end of the game.)
Imagine my surprise when a person playing the new Monster Whisperer DLC took the railway tracks past that mid-game area farther than I thought you could go, that still had the monsters listed above! So they're still around, just out of the way. Cool! They're the best way to get canvas without having to buy jute/get plastic bits so that's really nice.
(Also, apparently you get a Pokedex equivalent on the DLC? No sign there's a reward for catching them all, though.)
