So, I really love the idea of Junimatic - which gives you access to automation after you fulfill certain quests - but maybe not the implementation.
In order to give my current Stardew Valley (Expanded) run (where I'm playing a farmer who went the Joja route) a bit more of a challenge, I'm using the automate mod, but refusing to attach machines to chests until I fulfill the following conditions:
ETA: I decided to move away from Junimatic's conditions and just went with requiring skill level 6 for all related machines; for example, mining level 6 for a furnace, fishing level 6 to automate a worm bin/crab pot/recycling machine combo, farming level 6 for things like preserve jars, etc.
